Resolutions… It’s a Love-Hate Relationship

I already know I’m not the best about following through on resolutions, every year I come up with some good ones, but about halfway through the year, my motivation to follow through kind of dwindles. Maybe now that I’m writing them down and sharing them, some of you might hold me accountable :-)

Resolution #1 – Become better at staying in touch with family and friends – Because I’m so far away, sometimes I feel like its too easy for me to not return a phone call or text. I want to get better at staying in touch with everyone, so hopefully this blog will jumpstart that whole process.

Resolution #2 – Cook more meals at home – I have learned it is so hard to cook for one person! About a month ago I made some amazing Coconut Curry in my crockpot (I LOVE my crockpot) but I made so much, I had Coconut Curry for lunch and dinner for a week! Jordan and I will be moving in together soon so hopefully that will help, but I really do want to start cooking more meals at home. Not only will it save money, but also I can get a jump-start on perfecting my housewife skills, heehee.

Resolution #3 – Dream Enjoy Inspire – I’m starting this blog today, and it took me a bit to decide on what to call it, but once I came up with “Dream Enjoy Inspire,” I thought it was pretty perfect. These are words I want to live by, not just this year, but for life! But, it’s only January 1st so we’ll start small and focus on the year for now….
Dream. I’m constantly dreaming! How I’m going to decorate the new house, what the wedding is going to be like, what we’ll do on the honeymoon… I love dreaming and I don’t want to stop! Last year Jordan told me to “make a wish” and my dream of one day marrying my best friend came true, I can’t wait for more dreams and wishes to come true in 2014.
Enjoy. Enjoying all the moments in 2014 will be the most important part! I read a quote the other day,
“We are born in one day. We die in one day. We can change in one day. And we can fall in love in one day. Anything can happen in one day.”
It reminded me that we need to enjoy each and every day because the next day it could all be different.
Inspire. I want to inspire myself, I want to inspire others… to be happy, grateful, excited for life, excited for love, excited for everything! I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to do the “inspiring” but that will be the challenge for the year.

I hope you all are having fun deciding on some New Year’s Resolutions.  Hopefully you’re making some, or at least one! Can’t wait to hear about them.

Much Love,
Nicolle
