13.1 or Bust!


So, if you don’t already know, I am a pro at procrastinating. About 2 months ago I signed up for the Miami Half Marathon of February 2nd. At the time I figured I had about 8 weeks to train, no problem-o! Then, the Holidays happened. So much food, traveling, time off from work, time to sleep in…Now I’m about 4 weeks away and I really NEED to start training… oops.

Funny thing too, 2 months ago when I looked up training plans online, there were a TON of 8 week half marathon training plans. Do you know what there are zero of? 4 week half marathon training plans. Well ladies and gentlemen, I present my very own 4-week training plan. Don’t know how well it’s going to work out, but after February 2nd I’ll let you know!

I would also like to add that I am NOT a runner. I actually don’t really enjoy running at all. I’m a swimmer; I do really well in the water. Water polo, diving, swim meets… that's my thing, that's what I’m good at. I would actually prefer to swim a half marathon than run one. I was forced encouraged by a few friends to sign up. They said I would be so happy and proud once I cross the finish line. I think someone even used the word “elated”. And to be perfectly honest, I think they’re right.

So, I’m going to give this running thing a shot.
